And the doctor said...

...we have a tall baby! Poor thing doesn't have a shot. Here are her 4 month stats -

- 12 lbs
- 25 3/4"

Tall & skinny! Knew that already. We started cereal last night...she's not too fond of it yet. We'll get there I'm sure!

playdate & random pics

On a side note - if you ever need any type of furniture, go to Alabama Furniture Market in Calera. They have really good prices! We got a coffee table & end tables, and the dining room set that we wanted for a year. Yay! Will be here soon...
Friday, we had a play date with Linda, Peyton, & Adalynne. It was lots of fun!

I'm not so sure about this picture stuff.

It's Jujubee the miracle doll! I believe that this toy has magical powers that can stop any crying. It works for everyone!

Madelyn learned something the other day. If she doesn't want to have tummy time & I won't pick her up (despite the screaming), then she'll just lay down and pout!

I thought this was so cute. The other night, she just laid on David's chest & smiled for a long time.

Cute little dress that some friends gave her.

Playin' with my toys.

David's 1st father's day. =) He got a digital frame for father's day for his desk.
I'm thinking really really hard...
This cute little outfit was given to Madelyn by Kennedy. They went shopping and she said that she wanted to get something for Madelyn instead of herself. That was so sweet!
She has also learned that she can hold her own bottle! Such a big girl...

4 months

I can't believe our baby girl is 4 months old already! She is growing & changing & learning new things every day. About a week before we left for vacation, she learned how to roll from her back to her tummy, which shocked me since she still hates tummy time. On Friday, she learned how to go from her tummy to her back, which I think she liked more! Mommy is her favorite nap place (for naps that last longer than 20 minutes), and she's been a bit clingy lately. She still fights naps (which she is doing right now). She is still very chatty & plays with all sorts of vowel sounds, but not too many consonant sounds (sorry, the SLP in me overanalyzes). She is one long skinny baby! Pants-wise, her newborn stuff still fits her, but her dresses are too short. And trust me, she's not starving! And I am convinced - who ever said you can't spoil babies by holding them too much had no idea what they were talking about. She always wants to be held!

Well, I have much to do today. Once Madelyn gets up from her nap (shouldn't be long), I need to run to Publix so we can finally have some food, straighten up the house a bit, and work on finding a hotel in New Orleans. I am going to a conference in November (I know it seems early, but the hotels near the convention center are already booked...yikes!). We also are looking at a new coffee table & dining room...we'll see about that. And finally, pray an opportunity opens up. Not going to say too much about it now, but it would be great for all of us.

The End

Well, we're home, safe, sound, and a little worn out. Poor Madelyn I think hates her carseat now. I was so afraid she would have trouble sleeping in her crib since she's been in the pack-n-play for a week, but she did great. She screamed for a minute after I fed her, so I tried rocking her, which didn't work, so I put her in her bed and she immediately calmed down. She was asleep within 5 minutes. I promised her we would lay low today, so that's just what we did. And now I shall bombard you with the last *few* pictures.

Ready to go out on the beach

Madelyn was so funny - she liked the pool, but not if she was in the float. She liked dry sand, but not wet sand, and she did NOT like the ocean! It was a little cold...

Goofy daddy

I wanna go sailing!

Playin' in the sand

Someone made a beautiful sand castle. Wish we could claim it, but we didn't do it.

What's daddy talkin' bout?

Gotta get dry after bath time!

A little mad about all the pictures...

...but I'm so cute!

Look at those gorgeous eyes!

Beautiful sunsets at the beach.

The sound of the ocean just put her to sleep.

In the pool again!

Look at the cool fountain!

Dry off our little Tigger, then off to bed!

The end!

A few more pics...

Rush of Fools at the Wharf

She sure does! She listened from outside so it wouldn't hurt her ears though.

This crane followed that guy around for quite a while! Patience pays off...he got a fish out of it.

Kennedy loved Madelyn, and Madelyn loved Kennedy! She learned last night that she could scream, and just screamed at Kennedy for about 5 minutes. It was so funny...I wish we had gotten it on video!

From the bay...

...to the beach!

She was super tired, so we dudn't stay out long. We're going back out in the morning when it's cooler.

All for now!

Our trip so far

Here are some pictures of our vacation so far!
Madelyn on the big comfy bed

We're low riding...poor baby can't wear 3-6 month pants!

Ready for the pool!

She didn't mind the water...it was just like a big bath! I was glad the water was warm so she could get in.

Get warm & dry...

One little monkey bouncing on the bed!
Well, that's all for now...more to come!
