In Memory

Well, everyone probably knows this by now, but my Granny passed away on Sunday Dec. 10. We will all miss her very much, but we have wonderful memories to celebrate her life with. We know that she is in a much better place, and it will only be a matter of time before we see her again. We love you Granny!

Relief

Well, I have a bit of good news to report. I just found out a few minutes ago that I passed my 2nd half of comps & I don't have to do orals. That is such a relief, because there is so much going on right now. Thank you for all the thoughts & prayes over the past few weeks. They have definitely made a difference. Also, my mom said yesterday that my granny is doing a little better. She is still having problems breathing (because of her heart), but she had her first liquids & foods yesterday, which is a good thing since she hadn't eaten or drank since Saturday. Anyway, not much else to report. I've been scheduling conferences & everything for off campus. I had put everything on hold between school & Granny.

A Little Emotional

This will probably be short, because I am a little overemotional right now. As some of you know, my Granny went into the hospital on Tuesday because she couldn't breathe. They found out she had pneumonia and an enlarged heart, and her blood pressure was 220/170. We went to see her Friday night, and she didn't look good. Anyway, this morning they took her off of everything (i.v.s, oxygen, etc.), so basically they are just waiting for her to die. This breaks my heart because this amazing woman quit work so that she could raise me since both of my parents had to work. I love her very much, and she has helped me become the woman that I am today. Anyway, I do have one positive bit to report. I passed half of my comps (the multiple choice part) with an 86 (I had to have at least 70). I don't know about the other half yet. I'll let you know when I know something!

I am going to...

...have a stroke before the end of this week. Pray for me please!! Thursday & Friday are the big days!! Well, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We did. We did lots of shopping, which I'll have to talk about later since we are about to have class.

Are you brave enough...

...to shop on Black Friday? We are very much looking forward to shopping on Friday. We had a sneak peek at some of the ads, and we already have stuff lined up to buy for Christmas presents. We used to NEVER go out on Friday because it was so hectic. Also, Friday is our day to decorate for Christmas. Anyway, I went 2 yrs ago for the 1st time w/ my dad & we found some really good stuff. David & I said we weren't going to go last year, but we couldn't sleep, so we went out at 6 in the morning. Anyway, just a disclaimer - it's been 2 weeks since I posted, so this may get long. A lot has happened the past couple of weeks. My parents were out of town Veteran's Day weekend for their anniversary, so we house sat for them. When they got back, my mom informed me that the doctor told my Granny that she had cancer, which was indicated by a blood test, but they didn't know where. She said they thought it was colon cancer, because she's lost a good amount of weight that she didn't have to lose. So last Wednesday, the day of the tornados, we were in Montgomery with her. Well, she was supposed to have the colonoscopy at 10:00, but the weather was so bad there, that we were on lockdown from 10-12 (we were about 10 minutes from the daycare/Fun Zone that was destroyed). We finally got out of there around 3:30. The doctor said that she had some polyps & diverticulae, but there was no colon cancer, so it was probably somewhere else. My mom suspected liver, because she had a yellow tint to her (which personally I think she's kinda always had - that's just her skin tone). Anyway, they had done an MRI the day before I think, and we were supposed to get the results back today. Everything came back clean - THANK YOU LORD! God never ceases to amaze us. So they really don't know why she's been losing weight, so it's back to square one with that. She now weighs 83 pounds, and she's my height. She's always been small, but she's always stayed around 100-110. On to other news. There's still nothing new on the egg front, which means they probably will not hatch. I don't know if I mentioned before that we were down to 2. One cracked open, so we had to throw it away because the yolk was sticking to Bella and she was getting the other 2 eggs stuck to her. Be thinking about me next week - my comps are next Thursday and Friday (Nov 30, Dec 1). This is such a big deal & has been very stressful. I have tried to study as much as I could, but things have obviously been crazy here. I'm a little panicked that I haven't been able to study more. Anyway, I guess that's all for now - thanks if there is anyone still reading - sometimes I just need to ramble/vent/decompress/whatever you want to call it. Needless to say the past couple of weeks have been extremely physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Sickness, Part 2

Well, this time it hasn't been me at least. David came home sick Friday, and basically was pretty sick all weekend. He said he felt a lot better yesterday though. And no, I didn't give it to him. It was more like what I had the first time I was sick, which is must better than last time I was sick. Anyway, not much new news on the egg front. There are still 3. Something weird happened yesterday though. She didn't lay them in her cage, but one of them wound up back in her cage. We're not sure how it got there. Anyway, it must have fallen a little because it had a little crack in it. We did something that I read about on the internet called candling, which is supposed to tell you if there is anything in them or not. We think there is in one, but not the other two. You could see the air sac in it, and it is the largest and heaviest. We have 3 eggs, all different sizes and all different weights. Anyway, other than that, not much new is going on. I'm still busy with school and the comps studying. It's at the end of the month - I am panicking!! Thankfully, next week is my last week of therapy.

Well...

Not much has happened in the past week. The grand total of eggs is 3. We haven't seen any more since Saturday. They've gotten a little abused in the past week. One fell on the floor behind the dresser, another either Bella or Sunny accidentally kicked into the wall, and the one that was behind the dresser got on the floor again somehow & Daisy got it. It was already a little cracked, but now it's a little more. So we don't know if any of them except maybe the 3rd will survive. Other than that....I feel a lot better. I'm still on antibiotic, and occasionally cough syrup when needed. School is killing me right now. I have comps Nov 30th & Dec 1st, & really haven't had much time to study, so keep me in your thoughts & prayers.

Update

And then there were 2. Pray there aren't more.

Eggs anyone?

Well, it has been an interesting week. For one, I have been sick, again - for the 2nd time this month. Very sick this time. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I have bronchitis, sinus infection, & it was starting to get to my ears. Fun stuff. Sunday I started feeling bad, achy & feverish, Monday it went downhill, and Tuesday I had no voice. I feel better today, granted I am full of medicine. Anyway, we had something very interesting happen Monday. When I got home from school, I found an egg. A bird egg. In my house. Yep, Bella laid an egg. I immediately started looking it up online, & they said that sometimes they lay eggs everyother day. She hasn't laid one today, so there probably isn't anything in the other one, which is a good thing. I can't handle any more animals!! She has been very protective of it until today, but she hasn't paid much attention to it today. They said when we first got her that she had laid a couple of eggs, but nothing was in them. She hasn't laid any in the three years that we've had her. Only one more bit of news. My cousin Katrina called today & said that she was pregnant again. Ok, so I guess that's all for now. I had a song in my head this morning that I was going to post, but I can't remember what it was.

So glad it's the weekend!

This has been a very long week for me. I have just been so tired lately & not able to sleep. I hate that. Well, not much has happened in the past week. Last weekend, we went to the beach & stayed with David's grandparents. Sunday we went to Tim's church - we couldn't be that close & not stop by!! It was a surprise though. We didn't tell them we were coming. They were all very delightfully surprised. We got to see Pam & Chad also. Then we went & had lunch with Tim & Ashley. We tried to stay at the beach some, but it was so cold!! And the water was really rough because storms were coming in. Anyway, we had our fall symposium at school today. Not fun. After I was finished, David & I took Daisy to get her nails trimmed. She was being such a brat! Apparently she didn't like the girl that was there (there are two people that work there that she absolutely LOVES!). Anyway, that's been our week. I have pictures to post, but I'm not at home.

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Don't you just hate it when....

....people get your hopes up about something that probably isn't going to happen? Well, that happened to me today. We had been told last Tuesday that there was a chance our comps would be postponed until January since we talked to our chair & told her how we weren't having time to study between classes, clinic, etc. Only to find out that we aren't going to move them. I'm glad & not. I really haven't had time to study, which is frustrating. But anyway.

On a much different note...There was a lady that lived three houses down from us that was killed in a car wreck on Tuesday. We didn't know her very well, but a friend of hers who got the call came & knocked on our door, asking if we had seen her boyfriend, who she was living with, because she wasn't sure she had the right house because she rang the doorbell & knocked on the door & no one answered. We haven't seen him since then, even though his truck is in the driveway. We don't know if he was with her or what, but it's been bothering us. Just keep their families in your prayers. It's weird to have something like that happen so close to home.

How sad....

My poor puppy is so sad. Her favorite toys are cat toys. Right now, she is playing with a pull-string mouse that vibrates. She has a duck that vibrated (thank you Valerie!), and she loves it so much. Well, she loved it too much I guess, because she soon figured out how to pull the cord & make it vibrate. Well, she did it so much, that she broke the string the same day (she still loves playing with the duck, though). We got her another vibra-toy today, & she pulls the string & walks around with it while it's vibrating. She pauses to pull it again, & continues walking. She's a mess. I guess it feels good to her since she's still teething.

Sick

Yuck. I have been sick since Saturday with an upper respiratory virus. It's not fun. Apparently between being here at the clinic, at the elementary school, the stress of school, and the fact that I've had a lot on my mind lately has all caught up with me. Thankfully, David hasn't caught it. Unfortunately, I've still had to be at school, and I haven't been able to concentrate very well. I try to keep myself highly medicated (which I do NOT like) so that I can make it through the day (or night). Anyway, other than that, not much has been up. I am almost through my 3rd week of clinic, which makes me excited & scared at the same time. My comps (comprehensive exams) are Nov. 30 & Dec. 1st, and if I don't pass those, I don't graduate. David's birthday was Monday, & I cooked his new favorite thing that I make, which is a pasta with red & white sauce & chicken & mozzarella. I got him this game that he had wanted ever since we went & visited Tim & Ashley & he played it there. I'm not allowed to play it for now though (I did really good my 1st time on it...I got "the look"). Well, I guess I need to go plan therapy now!

Finally

Well, I know it took long enough, but here are some pictures. They are kinda random, and I know there are a lot, but I haven't been able to post them until now. Sooooo....enjoy!

Ever wonder what the inside of a hot air balloon looks like? This is it! They blew that thing up with a fan!! Who knew? Anyway, this was at my mom & dad's church last Saturday. Saturday and Sunday was their grand opening for their new church, so we went Saturday evening and hung out a while & then Sunday morning for their 1st service Posted by Picasa

Long time, no see...

Well, so it's been a while since I posted. Not much has happened. I think since last time, Daisy chewed through my laptop cord, which made it difficult to post. It took me a while to get that in, even though we paid for next day shipping. Frustrating. Anyway, I had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We went down to Fairhope and visited Tim & Ashley, our ex-youth pastor and his wife, and their children Cole & Kennedy. We had so much fun. And, of course, had yummy seafood!! And did you hear about the crocodile hunter? Oh my goodness! You know, it's one of those things where you always say, that's going to kill him one day, but who knew it really would!! Anyway, I started school back last Monday. I got my clinic schedule today, and am feeling quite overwhelmed. I have 4 clinic assignments and diagnostics, so I will be quite busy. Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I can't remember what else I was going to post...

Bye-bye

Well, on Monday I did something that I knew I would do, but didn't expect to be so traumatizing. My hair is now officially all gone. I went to Great Clips in Hoover Monday afternoon because I was home all alone. I had 12 inches cut, which was divided into 2 ponytails & donated to Locks of Love. So now my hair is really short. Only a couple of people have seen it - David, Jacob, & Amelia. I guess people at church will see it tonight. I can actually do stuff with it though. I don't have to pull it back all the time. Granted I'm not going to keep it this short. David actually wants me to get it cut again. He doesn't like the way the lady cut it (but hey, can you really complain too muh about a free haircut?), which is more of a down angle, which is very different for me. So it'll probably be "fixed" next week. Anyway, this weekend was really good. Friday I finished my finals, which was a relief. Friday and Saturday nights we went to watch Jacob play with the band, Poor & Wretched. They sound great & they are all so much fun. We had hung out with all of them minus 1, who is actually one of my teacher's son. That's who we went to see Talladega Nights with. Anyway, so we were out pretty late all weekend. We all went out to eat Friday after they finished playing, where I got the biggest bruise I think I have ever had. Dolphus (their van, don't ask where they got the name) attacked me & I have a massive bruise on my side. David told me it looked like a rainbow. Saturday night we went back to watch them play in Birmingham. Then we all went to Books-A-Million & had coffee & talked. It was a lot of fun. Anyway, I'm trying not to give myself too much of a break, so that I'll be motivated to go back to school. I've started working on my notes to study for my comps, which I'll take in November. This is a huge deal for me, because if I don't pass, I get kicked out. I don't do testing well by the way, so keep me in your prayers. Well, I guess that's all for now. Everything is going well here. Casper & Daisy are still getting along great. I really do think that he thinks she is his new playtoy. He doesn't play with any of his toys anymore!!

Monday, August 07, 2006

Um.....

Well, things are finally winding down around here. Today and Wednesday are my last audiology days. I have all my hours thankfully. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped me. I am very grateful. My last day of summer stuff is Friday (I have finals-1 Thursday, 1 Friday, and another that's takehome & is due Friday). Then I have 2 weeks before I start back in the fall. Other than that, not much is going on. All the animals are fine. Daisy is still growing & Casper loves playing with her. I think he thinks that she is his new toy.

More change...

Well, I didn't realize how long it had been since I had posted! Summer 2 has definitely kept me busy. Right now I am working on a project that's due Friday for cleft palate. It is going to end up about 40 pages long. Fun fun, not really. I found out in class I had to add stuff, and I thought I was almost finished. AHH! Anyway, it will be over next week, so I'll be ok. We have had yet another change in our household. We have a friend staying with us for a while. I have to say, Daisy is loving it. She is such as people-puppy. She is growing so much! I know, I still haven't posted pictures. Between school and my laptop being difficult, I'll get them posted eventually.

Change

Well, a lot has changed since I posted last. Last Sunday, we got a puppy. Her name is Daisy & she is a Pomeranian. I also started my summer II term, which is why I haven't been posting. The schedule isn't too bad, except that I have 1 class on Friday from 8-2. I'll survive. Anyway, this weekend was great & really busy. We went to the Comedy Club to see Jeff Allen & Daren Streblow, 2 comics from the "Bananas" show that we watch on Friday nights. It was wonderful!! For those who don't know, the Comedy Club is starting a "clean comedy" series, which they started off with 2 Christian comics. Saturday, I had to work, and then we rested a while at home before going over to Valerie & Alex's. We had a lot of fun Saturday night. Sunday, just as we were getting ready to go to church, my dad called. And then he asked me if he was supposed to call me. I'm like, WHAT? Very confusing. Then he called back to tell me that my cousin, her husband, and their little girl were going to their church Sunday morning, so we decided to go to their church. We went to both services, the contemporary & the traditional, although the traditional service was done by the kids finishing up VBS (we ate breakfast instead of going to Sunday school). My dad, as usual, was one of the "actors" in their Bible lesson. He played blind Saul. It was very funny, because the "scales" (which were glitter) got stuck on his face. We saw a friend of ours that I went to high school with & David also went to school with - Jon Brummit. His son had gone to their VBS. They just had a little girl, who is too cute. In the midst of chaos this week, I will also be working on a wedding cake for 2 friends of ours whose wedding is Saturday. It's going to be a busy week!! I have pictures to post, which I was going to do yesterday, but I was having problems with the computer.

Only me...

Well, I know it's a few days late, but I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. We did. We got to sleep in, and we did some stuff around the house that we had been wanting to do. Then we basically ate lunch, watched some movies, and went to bed!! It was good though. I did have an "only me/blonde" moment. I accidentally cut my foot. Which wouldn't seem too bad except...that it was with a butter knife. I dropped it & the serrated side made a gash in my foot. Nothing too bad, but it still hurt. Anyway, today is my last day of summer I. I am so happy!! I really should be studying right now, but I'm procrastinating. I finished my 1st final, and I have another one at 1. Then I only get a day (maybe) off before we start summer II. Not looking forward to that. I have 2 different sets of clinic (again) but it shouldn't be too bad. I'll survive. Well, I guess that's all for now. I can't really think of anything else to post!

Frustration

Well, I wasn't able to post pictures like I wanted to because my laptop has a virus. Which makes no sense because I have Norton Antivirus & it's not picking it up, which makes it even harder to fix, so we may have to wipe it out. Anyway, enough of my rant. This weekend was great but busy. Thursday & Friday we house sat for my parents. Friday we had some friends over to our house. Saturday we got up early & went to Atlanta for my Wilton conference. It was great!! I had so much fun & I learned a ton of stuff. We got back & went out to eat & then went home & went to bed. Sunday we overslept, so we didn't make it to church. We slept until 10:15, & had gone to bed at 10:30 Saturday. We were exhausted!! I had 2 hours of sleep Thursday night & 3 Friday night, & I couldn't sleep on the car trip over there. I'm still kinda tired, but we're trying to get back to sleep normalcy, if there is such a thing!!

Wednesday, June 14, 2006

So it's been a little while...

Not much has been going on lately. We have been busy as usual. Right now I feel like school is about to kill me. It has been really busy, with definitely not enough time in the day. I get to school around 7:45 (or I try to at least) & get home around 3:15 & work until about 10. Then I try to relax and/or sleep. Needless to say, with school & everything else that's going on, things have been stressful. Nothing I really want to talk about right now. Oh, on a high note. The Wilton conference is this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. I get to learn how to do some new things, so that's always fun. I still have pictures to post from our trip...I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I was going to do it last weekend, but I just didn't have time. Our neighbors who were letting us use their internet moved, so we're back to dial up, & it's so slow. It will probably be tomorrow night for pictures. We are supposed to house sit for my parents. They are going to Nashville for a few days. My mom starts her new job Monday. We're supposed to have lunch today. Anyway, til later!

Save the trees!!

As I sit here in the computer lab, where I have been for the past 2 hours may I mind you, printing out stuff for my class this afternoon that I didn't finish because I was really ready to go home, I am thinking this (multiply this by 15, or I guess 14 since we lost 1). Oh my goodness. I have used an entire pack (500 pages) of paper in the last 24 hours. I am printing this off double sided may I note. Now this computer decides it is through for the day with printing. So technically, I am taking up 2 computers, switching back & forth between typing & printing. It makes me want to pull my hair out...or just get it cut. For those who don't know, I have been growing my hair out for the past few months for locks of love. It's a nonprofit organization who makes hair pieces for children who have had cancer, aleopecia, etc. & therefore have no hair. If you want to know more, go to www.locksoflove.org. Not to mention, I am really hungry!! I forgot to bring my lunch. And I really don't want to go anywhere, so I guess I'll wait until I get home. Thankfully, I am almost through printing. I have to sit through a 2 hour class later this afternoon 1-3. Not looking forward to that.

Monday, June 05, 2006

School already....

Well, we got back safely from our vacation. It was wonderful! I have pictures to post later. I'm at school right now. I actually start tomorrow, but we had a meeting today with 1 of my supervisors from 9-3. Ick. Anyway, I gotta go back in there. I'll try to post later.

Casper

I wanted to find an older picture when he was a kitten & compare the 2, but apparently I don't have them on the laptop. Can't you just picture him with those froggy ears on?? Posted by Picasa

AWWWWWW

Doesn't that just make you want to pick it up & squeeze it? It looks like Casper when he was a baby.... Posted by Picasa

Insomnia

I just haven't been able to sleep lately. Maybe it's because I know that I have nothing to do tomorrow, yet. We got our 1st assignment for summer 1, which starts June 6th. Blah. Not looking forward to that. Anyway, I did get what I needed to get done pretty much finished on Monday. Today I went shopping. There were a couple of things I wanted to get for the trip next week. I got a shirt for $3.50 at Belk. Thought that was pretty cool. I'm watching Jay Leno. They have baby tigers on there that are 2 months old. They are soooo cute!!!! And so big! Big kitty. Awww...they not so happy. And then the trainer gives them the bottle & they become little vegetables. It reminds me a lot of my kitty the way they are sucking on the bottles. Casper gets the same look when he sucks on your finger. Ok it looks like it's about to take his face off. Until he started shushing him. He likes it. Haha, he's chewing on his hand. That's gotta hurt. Aw, they're rubbing heads. I wish I had this on tape. Ok, now I'm just rambling. It's an animal trainer named Jarod Miller. I don't know who he's with. Anyway, I found a cute picture earlier. I'll post it before I get off the internet.

Excited & Frustrated

I am very frustrated right now. I had a lot of things to do today, & I didn't get any of them done!! Due to unforseen circumstances. I really did try. Oh well, maybe later today or tomorrow. I have to get my birdies clipped tomorrow, which brings me to my exciting news! We're going on vacation next week! YAY! It was kinda last minute, we only planned it Friday. We are going to leave early early Sunday morning & go to St. Simon's Island. I am very excited. We're going to stay with my aunt, uncle, & cousins who I haven't seen in just over 3 years. I'm also going to see my grandmother, who lives in St. Mary's. They were so excited when I called to see if they were going to be in town. I can't wait. It's going to be a long & busy week!!

Where has the time gone?

The past few weeks have flown by. Too fast. We've been pretty busy lately. We redid the front yard last week. That was a lot of fun, minus the spiders. We learned that, while we have no ants, we have tons of spiders! Big icky spiders! I found 1 in the house last week. Anyway, I haven't been feeling well the past few days, so I haven't done too much except clean out my car today. I've had a fever & just felt icky. Tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary. It's hard to believe how fast it's gone. We're going to have an early dinner & then we have to work cafe at church. Well, I guess that's all for now.

Relief

What's today? Monday? And I have nothing to do? You have got to be kidding me. Well, I finished my last final on Thursday, which wasn't bad because it was just a presentation. Then the head of our department took all of us & a couple of the professors out to lunch, which was very nice of her. I felt bad that she was going to have to go back to one of the schools by herself, so I volunteered to go back with her on Wednesday. I get extra money though, which is nice. I really don't know what to do with all of this free time. Right now I decided I can be a veg because I've worked hard enough this semester. Anyway, some of us did some celebratory shopping Thursday after lunch. I got an outfit at Old Navy & then some flip flops at the mall. That afternoon at 4 was Healthsouth's employee apreciation day. They had free food & carnival rides & it was a lot of fun. It was really nice of them to do all of that, especially free for everyone. Unfortunately, it started raining around 6. It was kinda cool though because it was like something you would see in the movies, but it was real life. David & I stayed for a while even after it started raining. By the time we decided to leave, we were soaked & cold! Oh, and Wednesday, I got to see my cousin Rick that I haven't seen in 5 years, and I got to meet his wife, who is pregnant. My cousin was in the navy the last time I saw him (he is out now) & had been in Iraq. We are all very proud of him & love him lots. It was really good to see him. We wound up staying with them at Oak Mtn park until 11:30 that night, but it was worth it. We had so much fun catching up & telling stories. He had to leave Thursday, & it was kinda sad. Saturday, we were going to go to graduation, but my aunt & uncle were leaving, so we decided to go say goodbye instead. Hopefully, we will be able to go visit them in Michigan soon. My uncle & David are working together on a project that David has had a vision for for a couple of years now (my uncle is an engineer). After my class Saturday, we came home for a few hours & then went to a graduation party for my friend Laura. She was very surprised. Her mom had called about a month back trying to plan it & she had no clue. Sunday we went to Sunday school & church, which was kinda sad because it was Pastor Tim's last Sunday. He preached & there was a reception for him after service. Today I had to go back to the eye doctor to get a pressure check, & then did some shopping at Target. I got a bathing suit for $8. I was excited & I also got some flip flops for $2. I've really been in a flip flop mood lately. I also had lunch with David today. & now I'm back to being a veg. Well, I know that was really long, so I'll cut it off for now.

An exciting (& busy) week

This week has been very interesting. Saturday after I got home from work and Sam's (where my hand got smushed by a 300 oz. bottle of laundry detergent falling on it...ouch), I had a surprise. My aunt & uncle were here from Michigan!! I was very excited because it has been a long time since I have seen them. Sunday they picked up my cousins kids, who I met for the first time Sunday evening. Also, we had new pictures made! I'll try to post them when I figure out how to work the scanner...Anyway, I had 2 finals on Monday, and of course, no motivation to study. That's ok though. I have gotten 2 grades back so far. I went back to UAB to do testing yesterday, & then had lunch with my mom. I stopped by the house to see my uncle for a little while, but he had to leave because my cousin was coming in town. I haven't gotten to see him yet. Anyway, I have 1 more final this week, but it's a presentation, so it should be easy. I guess that's all for now...I'll try to post when things calm down some!!

Is it over yet?

This week has been a nightmare so far. I had a take home test to finish, due today. I have been working on it for a week. I finally finished it this morning at 1 a.m. & went to bed around 2. At this point, I can't wait for school to be over. All I have is 2 classes today and 1 on Thursday. I have finals Monday & Thursday next week, and I have to go back to St. Francis to finish the UAB testing. Anyway, after our final next Thursday, our department chair is taking us out to lunch. I have to say, it's really nice to have professors & supervisors that you can talk to & hang out with & not have to be afraid of, although we were a little scared of Dr. J having a bad day yesterday...well, I guess that's all of my little ramble for now.

Storms!

I do not like this weather! Wednesday night we got home about 8:15, and I was intending to do homework. About 8:45, it started storming horribly!! We had quarter & golf ball sized hail. Supposedly not, but I swear it sounded like a mini tornado went over the house. All of a sudden it was quiet then it sounded like a train. It was really scary. The animals were frantic. Anyway, hope everyone has and continues to make it through the storms ok. We have Emmy tonight & tomorrow. We went to St. Francis to do the UAB/ERF testing, but they had storm damage & probably will be closed until Wednesday. =( So Erin & I went to Watermark place & got in some shopping instead! That was fun.

So, it's been a while...

Well, a lot has happened in the past week or so. My birthday was the 11th. I had a really nice birthday. The Cirque du Soleil was the main part of my birthday, but David couldn't resist getting me some other stuff too. And, I got a new car this weekend. Don't ask why. I did not need another car. Mine was wonderful, it had low miles, and I really loved it. A couple of months ago, David saw the '07 Camry. They redesigned it completely - inside & out. I test drove it a few weeks ago, but was definitely NOT planning on getting it any time soon. I loved it though. David took me to work Saturday because we had been out shopping. He told me that when he picked me up I would have a new car. I didn't believe him. When he picked me up, I asked him if I had a new car, he said no but he was working on it. Saturday evening we traded my '04 & picked up the '07. We were very blessed with the whole deal, and the salesman was great. The moral of the story - Never underestimate a man on a mission! Last night I filled in for the night cake decorator teacher. We have UAB/ERF testing this week, so we are busy busy busy!!
