18 month pics

These were my attempt at Madelyn's 18 month pics. I haven't decided whether to print them off or to try to get some professionally taken. What do you think?

Of course there had to be a tongue out picture...

I think the ones above & below are my favorite.

For some reason, the edits I did in Picasa didn't save, so I'm having to go back & redo them in Picnik. Some of them looked a lot better. I have a couple more I want to do at the house with a huge bear my cousin gave her...maybe those will get done next weekend?

Imagine That!

Today was a busy day for us! It started this morning at Aldrige Gardens, where I decided to *TRY* my hand at doing Madelyn's 18 month pics. To say the least, she was less than cooperative, but she's always that was for me for pics. We decided to reward her by taking her to Imagine That Kidz Club in Calera. This is a neat place designed especially for kids 6 & under. If you want more info on it, go to http://www.imaginethatkidzclub.com/. Since there aren't pics on their website & a lot of people have asked me about it, I decided to do this post. When we first got there, there were only 2 kids there, and I think they either belong to or were related to the owner. One thing that was comforting was that even with only 2 kids there the owner was cleaning. Note - bring socks!! First walking in, I thought she might get bored kinda quickly. It's a pretty big room, with some closed off rooms, and it seems like there should be more stuff maybe? But I could see where, when more kids got there, it might get a little crowded. Most things were inflatables. Some of the activities they had included a ball pit, little bouncy house inflatable, a little slide, trampolines, a tunnel, & a climbing wall. A lots of balls, which of course my little love LOVED! So here are some pics of our trip -

This giant ball is what eventually ended her trip. It doesn't look heavy, but it is, and a little boy accidentally hit her with it, knocking her over. She was inconsolable. It was nap time.

Like I said, it was a little slide. But, the place is designed for kids 6 & under. I think maybe they need a little bigger one though.

Little bouncy house. We also knew it was nap time when she got in here & laid down.

She had to have a little help on the climbing wall.
But it was worth it when she got to the top!

She tried to rock on here, but it was a little hard since her feet didn't reach the floor.

Tunnels are fun!

She was iffy about rolling on the big "log."

Oh sweet bubbles. I think that & the ball pit made her trip.

Balls EVERYWHERE!

I learned today that jumping was a skill we need to work on. She wasn't exactly sure how to manage the trampoline, but she picked up on it pretty quickly after watching another kid do it.
Summary, it was fun for her. And at only $5 to get in & play as long as you want, it's a pretty good deal compared to some of the other places. I'm sure we will be back soon!

So behind!

Since starting work 2 weeks ago, I feel like I am never going to catch up on anything! Paperwork, my house....everything seems to have been neglected. Me going back to work meant something new for Madelyn. We decided to put her in "school" part time. This has been good and bad for her. I think it's great that she's getting the social interaction and learning new things, but the caveats have been injuries & illnesses. We thought we were going to have to pull her out after 2 days when she was bitted four times in that time span. I was NOT happy to say the least. We know that this was a possibility when we decided to put her there, but 4 times in 2 days is a little ridiculous. Thankfully, the 3rd day they moved her room. It wasn't actually happening in her room, it was happening in the 2 year old room where I was dropping her off. So far, no more bites. Now, my poor baby is sick. For the first time ever (well, that hasn't cleared up within 12 hours or so). We took her to the doctor Monday. Thought she was getting better mid-week, then last night, she was hit hard again. Poor baby constantly has a runny nose & is ill as can be. She's also lost 2 earring backs in a week! Last Saturday we bought her a new pair because the back to her pearls was lost. By Tuesday, one of those backs had fallen off! Granted they weren't terribly expensive, but it was still frustrating. This resulted in a trip to the mall Thursday night. Thankfully, the people at Zales gave us an extra back. The screw backs are so hard to find!

Since I haven't posted in forever, of course I have tons of random pics =)

Where's Madelyn? One of her favorite games is still peek-a-boo.

Meet itsapuppy. Itsapuppy doesn't have a name yet, but we call it that because for the first, oh 100 times that she saw it, she would say "It's a puppy!" very excitedly. She carries that thing around everywhere. We think it's because it looks almost exactly like Daisy. To the point to where we have gotten on to itsapuppy thinking it was Daisy on the coffe table, etc.

One night we decided to make chocolate cake. David even made homemade icing, and we let Madelyn have a little taste. Of course she liked it, it was chocolate!

This face is "mommy, I'm so thirsty that I'm using a straw in my snack cup. Please give me some water!"
Mommy's theraband makes a great scarf!

Pretty girl

Such a big girl. We've learned that letting her buckle herself in entertains her just about everywhere...getting ready for dinner, in the cart out shopping, in her stroller...

Before I started back to work, we packed in some fun things. First of all, we went to the McWane Center! Madelyn loved it. We thought she might be a little too young for it still, but there were some great things designed for kids her age.

She wasn't hugely fond of the wind tunnel...even though she did get in it a couple of times.

Water and a ball...life doesn't get much better than that.

Of course the water table was a hit.

and the slide...

And we had to see the "wish" - one of the funny little things she says. Almost everything she says is extremely clear, and she used to say fish right, but now she doesn't. Oh well, it's still cute. Another cute thing she says is "oss" for applesauce.
We also made a day to spend with Valerie, Felicity, Ariana, and Julianna (or as Madelyn called them, Aunt Bella, Ici, Ari, & Dulala).

Madelyn likes to help...
Getting to "hold" Julianna

Eating lunch with Felicity and Ariana. Three sweet girlies.

Up close & personal with the hummingbird.

We've had a lot of rainbows lately. Pretty pretty.

First day of school - ready to go!

Having dinner with David's family.

My cute little ducky! Where's Madelyn?

Boo! (followed by giggles)
