Update

Today I had another appointment with the orthopedist. They did some more x-rays, and he said the elbows were healing. I am able to pick Madelyn up (yay!), but only with the right arm. I can pretty much resume normal use with it as I can. He said there wasn't much I could do to injure it more. Still have the brace on the right...movement is slowly returning. He prescribed some occupational therapy...2-3x/week for 3-4 weeks. I start tomorrow actually. The pain is so-so...I imagine it will pick up tomorrow. I go back in 3 weeks to get some more x-rays, etc. I'm hoping it will be better before we head to Atlanta for the 4th! I think that's everything...David's taken off some this week to take care of us, and we're both enjoying it!

We took Madelyn for her 15 month appointment on Monday...it had been rescheduled because of the trip. Her stats were 21.5 lbs (30%), 32.5" (90%), and 60% for head. It looks like we finally have her weight in a good place! I swear that child must have the highest metabolism ever with as much as she eats!

As for me...I'm surviving. Some days are better, others worse. I go back to the orthopedist next Tuesday...I'm praying he releases me to pick her up. I had my brace off for a minute last night, and David commented how it had atrophied. Getting my muscles back to normal isn't going to be a fun job, but I know it will happen!

Update

So if you don't know by now, I fell on Friday and injured both elbows, wrists, and bruised a knee and ankle. I went to Shelby ER, and they said I had two cracked radial heads in my elbows. I was given an immobilizer for the left arm and a sling for the right, and made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon for a follow up today. So here's my arm update - I now have the right arm out of the sling! He said the crack on that side wasn't terrible and I can move it and use it (though still 3-4 weeks before I can pick up MJ). Left is worse than ER said...as I suspected I popped a ligament, and when I did it chipped off part of the bone. No surgery though (the good news)! Put me in a new splint so I can move it (I look like I have a bionic arm). Bad news is I'll lose some mobility in both. I was supposed to go to Virginia with David yesterday, bur sadly couldn't. It's not been fun so far, especially since that was going to be our vacation for the summer. I have to say though, I am thankful beyond words for all of the help and support that our family and friends who have offered to help out. Ok I think that's all...hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.
