First day of clinic
I am so nervous!! I only have one client today (they didn't change my schedule by the way). But this is also my 1st adult (autism) client. It will be interesting!!
The tradition continues...
Well, I have to say it is not a good tradition. You know how last semester I fell and hurt my ankle very badly at the beginning of clinic last semester? Well, one girl just fell & now they're taking her to the emergency room. What funny? She has the same supervisor that I had last semester. You can imagine that the supervisor feels really great about having 2 of her clinicians taken to the emergency room.

Tag
You can tell I really don't have a lot to do right now. I have posted more than usual!
Ok, I got tagged, so here are my pet peeves:
1. People who go UNDER the speed limit. I typically drive right at or 5 over the speed limit, so it really drives me nuts when people go under, especially in the fast lane on the interstate.
2. When people chew/talk with their mouths open. I may have seen what you were putting in your mouth, but I do not want to see it again.
3. When people ask for your help and then tell you - a. you're doing it wrong, or b. they don't like the way you're doing it. Basically you're criticizing me or telling me that you really don't need my help.
4. Overhearing people talking on a cell phone, and trying to be private. I have speakerphone on my cell phone, but I don't use it when other people are around. I mainly use it in the car when I can clip my seatbelt if someone calls. This is particularly in the bathroom.
5. When people aren't grateful for what they have. Enough said.
Ok, I don't really know who to tag, so if you read this and haven't done it....

Clients
Well, I found out my client schedule last week. I have 1 adult autism group and a reading group at a school. I was quite happy with that. That's not bad to me. Unfortunately though, they may be adding more. Please pray that they don't!! I want everything to stay manageable. And they have a tendency to give us more than we really can manage!
Going to Spain
No, not the country. We have to go to Spain Rehab Center for a full day for my aphasia & neurogenic disorders class. I was very excited to go, because I've never seen SLP hospital work before....at least, I was excited until yesterday. See, the 1st group went on Friday (we go in groups of 2 - I'm going the 3rd). One of the girls (who generally can handle anything) passed out after having to go to the burn unit. That really scares me, because I have a very weak stomach, and I already do not handle hospitals well. I am so afraid that is going to be me!!! I've already warned David. He really doesn't want me to go. I love my husband. I wish I didn't have to go, but I guess it will be a good experience though...

Rain, rain, go away...
I know we need rain, but I really wish it would happen at night when I don't have to be walking to class in the rain. I got to school at my normal time this morning (9:00), just after the downpours begin. Normally, I have no trouble finding a parking spot, but this morning they were ALL taken. I was not happy. I was cold, and wet, and I kept forgetting stuff so I had to go back to my car twice. Ick. Anyway, on a brighter note, this weekend was great. Friday we went to Valerie & Alex's. Then I had to get up early Saturday morning because I forgot to do a couple of things for my class. Then I went to class - which went SO surprisingly well. I was so nervous! By the end of my 4 hours of standing up in what are normally comfortable black boots, I was ready to go home. When I got home, I had a message from my friend Laura. We had talked about getting together that night, but I figured she would have called on my cell phone. So we went and saw "Rumor Has It" (I think that's the name - my brain is dead today. I couldn't even figure out how to get the printer at school which I've used a thousand times to work) and had coffee afterwards. That was night 2 of staying up late. We got up & went to church Sunday morning and over to my parents Sunday evening. Then when we got home (around 9), David told me he had to do some stuff for a friend at his work. We stayed up until midnight. I'm glad I could sleep in, but he had to get up & go to work. Monday we had lunch together since I didn't have school. And that was our weekend.

The weekend
I am very much looking forward to the weekend. I got out of class today & headed over to my mom's. We went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch. Yummy. Anyway, this weekend will be good. Tonight, we are going over to Valerie & Alex's. Tomorrow is my 1st cake decorating class that I'm teaching. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm still very nervous! I think I have 8 people signed up. Anyway, we are Emmy-free this weekend. So it will be a lot less stressful!!

Back to School!
Well, my first day back at school was today. It wasn't too bad, considering I only have one class on Mon., Wed., and Fri., and 2 on Tues./Thurs. What's bad is I don't have class Wednesday or on Monday. Things won't get hectic until the last week in Jan/first week in Feb. Not too much has been going on, really. Casper's appointment Friday went fine, other than the horribly pathetic noises he made. Oh, I did finish my book on Thursday. It was very very good. I can't wait to see the movie. Hopefully, David & I will get to go this weekend (if my mom & dad will keep Emmy for a few hours...)

Happy New Year!
Well, it's 2006. Kinda hard to believe, huh? So far, the new year has been uneventful. David was off yesterday, and he went to the doctor to see about his TMJ. Then we picked up Emmy & had lunch at my parents. Next week will be a different story though. I start school back on Monday. I'm looking forward to it and not all at the same time. I've almost finished my book, which is my goal before I start back. We did fireworks on Friday, so David and I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia on Saturday. It was good. I have to take Casper to the vet on Friday for his yearly appointment. Not looking forward to that. Well, I guess that's all for now.
