Random pics, as promised

In no particular order, here we go!

My sweet girl loves animals! This cat tolerated her so well.

Miss Audrey, Madelyn's new friend! She's 3 weeks old.

Madelyn's "boyfriend" Aidan.

Cheeky!

Roxy, my parent's cat. She didn't want to go home!

And Casper is thinking, "check that out!"

"I love you, please play with me!"

Photo Shoot! The shirt reads, "Daddy did my hair!" The skirt is one of the many cute outfits my parent bought her on vacation.

"That's my daddy!" smile.

She pulled this blanket on top of her. I guess she was cold!

Having a chat with daddy.

My pretty girl!

Trying on bows at Aunt Valerie's =)

Pretty in pink.

Hangin' with my daddy.

Look at me! I can sit up all by myself!

I found a chip with a heart in the middle...weird...

Getting some daddy time in after he got home from work.

I have almost enough hair for a bow!

Update

Well, I haven't been very good about updating lately! Things have been busy as usual. Last week we kept my parents animals while they were out of town. That was interesting! Casper misses his kitty friend =) and Daisy has been a bit sad too. This week I am keeping a friend's little boy for a few days. Madelyn loves having a friend! Although she was a bit too interested in his food. She grabbed the baby food jar & proceeded to try to stick it in her mouth. I think she got a taste of sweet potatoes. Girl is ready for some real food! She turned 5 months old on Friday. Hard to believe! Here are some things about her now.

- She still sleeps about 10 hours each night. Sometimes 9, others 12. Must be a growing baby!
- Nap time is getting better...when we're at home at least. She takes about an hour nap, but hasn't really been fighting about it lately.
- She still only weighs 13 pounds! This despite nursing, supplementing with formula, and cereal twice per day. She's a little piglet! She loves food!
- She can sit up all by herself! She made this accomplishment last Monday, & can now sit up for a couple of minutes at a time before she falls over, & then tries to get back up again.
- She likes to stand up too, & she'll take little steps while you're holding her. As long as she's not on her tummy, she's ok. We fight tummy time every day. I swear I don't think she will crawl...
- She is super sweet. She love giving hugs & kisses, very wet kisses...sometimes she'll just lick you.
- She is quite independent. When she will take a paci (usually only in her carseat), she will take it out after you put it in, & then put it back in her mouth. She's getting pretty good at that.
- She loves to chat & scream, she'll call me "Ma" every so often, & she laugs a LOT.
- She likes for you to play with her feet, blow on them, & tickle them. She is quite ticklish!
- She is a mommy's girl & a daddy's girl. But she is SOOO excited when daddy gets home!

As for me, I am dreading going back to work in a couple of weeks! I will miss my sweet girl dearly. We've made a good bit of pictures lately, so I will post them within the next few days.

No naps for the sleepy

My sweet girl is fighting napping, as usual, but I thought I would take a second to update. We got all of our furniture in finally. It all came within a week, except the table, which they ordered the wrong one. So they reordered & we got it also. I also decided to redo our guest bathroom. I've been wanting to for a while, but couldn't find what I wanted to do it in. I really like it. We were going to have to get a new soap dispenser anyway, since ours broke, but I guess I went a bit overboard. =)

New, not glass coffe table & end tables.

Our dining room. Now I can show off my china!

I did this painting to match our shower curtain.

Now that wall doesn't look so bare!

Now to other stuff. Last Friday, my great-grandmother passed away. Although I know she is much better off (she had severe Alzheimer's), it is still sad because Madelyn never got to meet her great-great-grandmother. Her funeral was Monday. Other than it being a bit chaotic at first (the downpour didn't help any), it turned out very nice. My dad did the service, and it was really great. Now others have recruited him for their services - I thought that was amusing. Of course, I am easily amused. Madelyn did well for all the travel & noise involved. My family is very loud...Otherwise, not much new to report. Madelyn is doing great, other than fighting naps. She is loving cereal since I thickened it up a bit. She flirts with her daddy all the time, and there are some things only mommy can make better. We love our girl so much, & can't imagine life without her!

And now I shall bombard you with pictures again!

Little miss just hanging out.

Spending some time with Pawpaw & David's family on the 4th.

Miss Independent has decided she wants to feed herself now.
On the 3rd (yes, I'm going backwards), we went to Stone Mountain to see some of my family. We had lots of fun! There is so much to do there now.
Although, there were lots of ambulances and medics. There was a guy who drowned on a kayak. Found out later that he apparently had a stroke. Sad.

So you read this sign...you would stay away, right? (On a side note, look at the bottom - memorial? Something tells me others have tried to jump the fence at the top too).

But not my dad! Sheesh =)

Me, David, & Trent at the top of the mountain.

We rode the tram up. Let me preface this by saying that my dad is afraid of heights. Thus the thumb sucking for comfort.

The cars.

A close up of the carving. We watched a video on it...very interesting.

The riverboat. We didn't go on it, buy it's pretty anyway.

Stone Mountain from a distance.

Madelyn saw her 1st dressed up character - Splash the duck. He's the mascot for the "ride the duck" attraction at Stone Mountain.

Spendin' some time with family.

Something not right about that one.
She loved her cousin Trent! He even shared his blanket with her. My mom told me that they said after we left, he said, "Ok, who misses the baby?" So sweet!

"Why are you doing this to me again?!"

The latest outfit my mom made for Madelyn. It's um....a little big. Like, she may be able to wear it in a couple of years. It said it was for 13 -15 lbs...I think they lied.

The view from the back.
Messy baby

She makes funny faces with daddy.

Yummy cereal. Some days she likes it, others she doesn't.

She likes the exersaucer. She's even figures out which ones to hit the buttons on!
