Shopping and Working

Ok, so I'm supposed to be working on a research paper at the moment, but I'm really not feeling motivated. Well, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We certainly did. We went over to David's grandparents and had lunch. We house-sat from Wednesday to Sunday, so that was fun too. Friday, we did some shopping. We weren't going to go anywhere, but we changed our minds at 6:30 in the morning because we couldn't sleep. So we bought our last 2 presents we had to buy for people, and then we bought the rest of our Christmas present to ourselves. We got a DVD camcorder. David saw it and had to have it. We've been wanting one for a while, because we didn't have a camcorder. Well, our camera could record, but that's not the same. We decorated our house on Friday and Saturday. We wanted to put our stuff outside, but we were afraid to because of the dog across the street. He kinda likes to chew on everything. Overall, it was a good weekend. But then Monday it was back to work. David is loving his job, and I only have a week and a half of school left before finals. I have to take my other compenency on Thursday. That'll be fun. Yeah right. Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I have work to do...if I ever get there...

Last Days

Sorry it's been a while. A lot has been happening. Wednesday was David's last day at Alacare. He starts his new job Monday. Yesterday (Saturday) was my last day at work. It was very strange being off today. We were excited about going to church, then I had a major nose bleed that lasted for 30 mins. Then it started again! Anyway, we did a lot of Christmas shopping this weekend. I usually have all my shopping done by the end of October, so I'm a little stressed. I bought one person's gift in July. Anyway, I had one of my final conferences for my client on Thursday. My other one is tomorrow. I'm very sad about that one - I love that kid!! I've been trying to get ready for them. I only had 24 hours notice for my other one. Well, I guess that's all for now. If I don't post before Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving!!

"Something good is going to happen today"

When we had our graduate orientation, Mr. Phillips did one of the rounds one day. He had a little speech prepared that was called "Something good is going to happen today." He said that, every morning, you should wake up and say that phrase and something good would happen. Well, that is forever engrained in all of our minds. But, we should all really think that every morning. Even if you are having the worst day that you can imagine, at least one thing good happened. You woke up, you have a place to live, there is at least one person that loves you (God), the list could go on. I know it has helped me. There are some days where I am stressed beyond belief and having a horrible day, and I have to stop and tell myself that something good has happened or is going to happen. Even if you're having a good day, think of all the good things that have happened and thank the ones that should be thanked.

Well, something good happened to me today. I am actually at home for once. My class for this morning was cancelled, so I got to sleep in. That is always good. But Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I only had 1 1/2 hours of sleep, so I was struggling to find something good (which turned out to be that I got to study for 2 hours instead). Anyway, we were supposed to have another competency today, but that is going to be moved since our professor's daughter is sick. Which means I have some time to do some of the things that I really need to....like clean....and get ahead on school work....but instead I'm online....(but I was doing school stuff earlier)....

Glad the weekend is over

Is it just me, or is something wrong with that comment? It has been a rough weekend. I've had problems sleeping for the past week, so I was already sleep deprived. Then, Emmy was a hellian this weekend. She was destructive and she's been lying again. Any suggestions as to what to do? I've tried everything I know. We didn't get to go to church today because we overslept. I was upset because I really enjoyed being back last Sunday. On a positive note, I am actually ahead on some of my school stuff. I have two tests on Wednesday that I am not looking forward to. I've got to stop looking at a computer....my head hurts.

Update

Well, this has been an interesting week. Last week (the day I decided to quit my job) David got a phone call about an application he had put in that morning. They had an interview on Thursday. He was offered the job & accepted. His last day is the 16th and he starts his new job the week of Thanksgiving. So that is the main event of the week. He is very excited. Anyway, Valerie tagged me, so here are my (maybe not so) interesting facts:
1. I was in a lot of pageants as a child and won several.
2. I am completely OCD.
3. I got sun poisoning my 1st day in a foreign country (Rome, Italy).
4. I could live off of chewy chips ahoy.
5. I can be super emotional sometimes.
6. I didn't date a lot of people before David.
7. I built a webpage (that was actually good) by myself when I was in high school.
8. I am a major procrastinator, even though I try really hard not to be.
9. I have a sometimes strange sense of humor (I blame my dad...).
10. I love plays or movies made into plays (& I think performing is the coolest job ever).
