Hecticness
I know that Valerie is probably the only one who can appreciate the "ness" but I had to do it. This past week or so has been kinda crazy. Last Friday & Saturday we painted at the church. We were so sore & tired! My mom has been sick since last week, so I've been over there a lot spending time with her & Granny. I think she made me sick, because I have not been feeling well this week. I feel better today though. We've gone swimming a lot this week. It's been so cold though! Well, except for 1 day it felt pretty good. Anyway, I spent most of the afternoon painting. I painted with my mom one day. She showed me some of the stuff that she teaches. She does "One Stroke" painting with acrylics. It's pretty, but I'm not that good at it. I tend to go for the more impressionistic style with oils. Which is what I did yesterday. I had paint everywhere! Maybe I'll post some pictures of the ones I've done. Hopefully I can post more pictures soon.

The blonde
Sometimes I worry about myself. Yesterday morning, my dad called me. He told me to "write this date down." I was thinking to myself, ok, they're going out of town, or we need to go somewhere, something like that. He pauses a few moments (as I am getting a pen & paper) and then says, "I remembered your phone number without looking it up." I tell him I'm proud, and then we go on to talk about other things. During the conversation, David calls, & I tell him I will call him back. My dad keeps saying ok (I didn't realize he was playing) & I go on to confuse all 3 of us. Anways, the conversation is ending, and I ask him what date I'm supposed to write down. He dies laughing (at work, too), & I just don't get it. See, I was waiting for a "June 6th" or something. He was talking about that day because he remembered my number. David didn't think it was funny, but I did & maybe someone else will. Just another reason that God made me a blonde...I guess I need to give a little background. I do stuff like this all the time, particularly to my dad. The most famous is when (this has been several years ago) I was trying to describe salami to him so he could buy me some. After several minutes of frustration, I finally say "it's like bologna, but round." After several minutes of him laughing, I realize that bologna is round. I don't know what I was trying to say. Needless to say, it is fun to go out to eat with me & my dad - lots of laughter. Golden Corral is his favorite because of what I do to gummy bears...but that's another story I'll save for later. Dad, if you're reading this, hope I didn't kill your day like I did yesterday. We already know people at work think you're crazy. But it doesn't rhyme with snuclear...

New Sounds
Since I've had the chance to sleep in the last few days, Sunny has woken up before me. This, of course, wakes me up because I'm a light sleeper. When he's ready to wake up, he goes through a series of funny little quiet chirps, then goes on to talking, then to whistling. He's learned some things from my dad. He was trying to teach Sunny how to say wassup like on that commercial about a month or so ago. We didn' t think that Sunny got it. But we we're wrong. He started going "wasup" and holding out a loooooong "suuuup" with a crackly little voice. He is so funny! I had to call David to let him hear it yesterday. Then I called my dad & asked him what did he teach my bird to do. He laughed when he heard it. My dad also taught him some little part to a song that whistles. It's something about a frog? All I know is that it's an older song.
Our Anniversary
Well, our anniversary was yesterday. It really only seems like a month or so ago that we actually got married. We went out for dinner and then came home and relaxed and watched t.v. for a while (yes, I'm addicted to American Idol...). David got me a 3 stone platinum ring for our anniversary. It's beautiful! Actually though, he gave it to me in New Orleans since it was our early anniversary trip. This week has been strange for me. While we were on vacation last week, it didn't seem like I was really out of school. But since I haven't had much to do this week, it's kinda hit me now. Let's see, what have we done since we've been back...Well, Saturday was Felicity's birthday party. We went over there after I got off from work. On Sunday afternoon, we went to a cook-out at Oak Mountain with the "young married" Sunday school group. Granted we never get to go to Sunday school because I'm at work, but it was fun to hang out and meet some new people. We took Lizzie (my mom & dad's dog) because Josh said to bring an animal since we don't have kids. We were afraid she would be bad and bark at everyone. Instead, she was a big baby and only wanted me to hold her. She normally doesn't like me very much. Now she thinks she's going to the park whenever we come over. Actually, I'm at my mom & dad's now. I can't get on the computer because David has it unhooked for working on other people's computers. I was going to post pictures yesterday, but oh well. I can't do them now because I don't have the c.d. with me. Today, I took Granny around. We went to Wal-mart & out to eat. Anyway, I guess that's all for now...if the computer gets put back together I'll put up pictures.

The Tour Guide
The people around here must think that we look like we know what we're doing. We've had a lot of people asking us where different stuff is. It's really strange, considering we're close to clueless. We tried to post last night, but for some reason the website wouldn't pull up. We figured it was down. Anyway, we decided that we are going to leave tomorrow instead of staying an extra day or going to the beach. We're tired! We went on the day cruise yesterday. I got a little sunburned. We miss our little animals too! Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures when we get back.

New Vacation Experiences
Well, as I said about a thousand times before, graduation was Saturday. It went very well & I am very glad it is over. Hopefully, the next 2 years will go by very quickly. Well, we arrived in New Orleans this morning between 10-11. It would've been sooner except we kinda got lost - and it was NOT our fault!! We had gotten directions off of Mapquest. We should have known better considering they said our house didn't exist up until a few months ago (we've lived there since Dec. 2003). Anyway, it said to turn left onto a certain road. When we got to the exit, we realized we had to turn right. So we went by the street name instead of making the left turn, and wound up in a quite scary place. I'm not sure where we were, but we do NOT want to go back!! Thankfully, David was driving because I was having anxiety attacks and sitting there going "oh my goodness" repeatedly until we managed to find the interstate again. New Orleans is a very confusing place! You can't make left turns! It's amazing we could get anywhere! We almost got run over by a street (trolly) car too. There is a street line that runs in front of our hotel, and in the midst of trying to get to our hotel (by turning left I might add) we met one of the cars. You have to look both ways, even in the grass. It's frightening. I would post pictures, but I don't have a card reader. We're at the hotel on the computer. We are sitting here about to fall asleep from exhaustion! Pray for safe travel. We've decided to leave my car in the parking garage here at the hotel and buy a transit pass to get around. Well, I guess that is all for now - try to update again later...

Excitement
Well, I have taken my last final. I had my jazz final this morning. It was a lot of fun. I have all of my grades back except for 1. They have to be in by 3, so he needs to hurry. Of course, that was my 10 essay question test that I was in pain after yesterday...Anyway, I have graduation rehearsal on Friday, and then some of my family is coming into town & we're going out to dinner. I am very excited. Saturday morning is the real thing! There is a breakfast that morning at 9, and graduation at 10. I am really excited, especially since it's not going to rain. Anyway, Sunday we are going to New Orleans. I can't wait. I've never been, but I really need a vacation right now. I don't know if we have internet access in our room...if we do, I'll try to post some. I still haven't forgotten about the pictures. Soon, I promise!!
