Lots to post on today...I'll skip around a bit, but I guess I'll start with - the bunny! *insert VeggieTales song here* Friday David was cutting grass, came inside & asked me if I had anything to catch mice with. Now, I have never even seen a mouse in our neighborhood, so I was a bit freaked out. He eventually talked me into coming out there to see. After peeking in the hole, I said, "I think those are rabbits!" After further inspection, we determined I was correct. And since a rabbit had been hit across the street a few days before, we called the Wildlife Center to get some advice. After about 20 phone calls and a bunny inspection, it was determined that they were ok and will eventually venture on their own. Scary thought considering we live in neighborhood. We've considered moving them to the back yard or transplanting them to my parents woods, which they said was ok. Here are some pics of our cute 3 little bunnies!
They have decided we are not all that bad after all. I fear I am becoming quite attached.
On the Saturday we had Madelyn's pictures made (the 20th), we also took her for her 1st dentist appointment. She actually really liked the dentist. She got a pretty ball and made her handprint for the ceiling tiles, and her picture made. They said she was the best 1 year old they had ever had! She wasn't afraid of the cleaning tool; however, she was NOT fond of the fluoride treatment.
Madelyn's birthday was on Wednesday, but we celebrated with friends and family on Saturday. She had a party for a princess!
And lots of food!
My birthday princess
"What am I supposed to do with that mommy?"
She's an icing girl. She ate a little cake, but really could have cared less. She didn't care for the feeling of the icing on her hands.
The aftermath.
Sweet girly with Aunt Valerie.
Got to play with her friend Aidan...
...and Felicity and Ariana!
Opening fun gifts....
...and cards...
On her birthday, we took her to the zoo, and ate dinner afterwards. She had lots of favorite animals!

The turtle was one of her favorites, second possibly to the monkey (we'll get there shortly).
The birds were fascinated by her.
This one actually followed her around.
It was fun to watch the sea lions!!
And of course, we love the birds.
The kangaroos & wallabes were new since I had been last (which I have to admit has been several years).
The rhinos were out, but not the hippos!
The gorilla likes to suck his fingers - how cute! It's like a really big baby.
The cute monkeys - when we first walked around the corner, one was hanging on the ledge staring at me! They were very interactive!
One was even brave enough to get near Madelyn - she thought it was fabulous!
The orangutan.
Look! A peacock! Wonder if he used to live in Montevallo...
The flamingos looked like they wanted to eat me. Kinda scary.
So did the lions...

...and the tigers. Really scary. I think it was too close to dinner time. By the way, this is what a white tiger looks like before he pounces on you. I'll try to post that video later.
