Overdue

I feel like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland...I'm late, I'm late for a very important date! I didn't realize it had been so long since I had posted. Starting back to work has meant limited time for the things in my life that really need to get done. Or things I want to get done...like blogging. So, what all has been going on in our lives? Well, work for one. This year I have been quite stretched (and stressed). And of course 3 kids keep you a little busy too. My little loves are doing wonderfully. Madelyn started 3K and is doing wonderfully. She amazes me at her brilliance. She is ridiculously stubborn though! She loves to make people laugh too. She definitely is a lot like me. Braden is my laid back little man. He is definitely the mama's boy (although Dalton can be a lot of times too). He is a little more behind with his motor skills, but his language skills are ahead of Dalton. Oh, and he is incredibly sensitive. If you get on to Madelyn while he's around, he will burst into tears for her. Dalton is my giggle box. All you have to do is look at him and he laughs. The boy LOVES to jump in the jumperoo. I always worry about him giving himself shaken baby syndrome. He loves pretty much everyone. So I'll start back in August and show you how much they've grown!

This is the beginning of September!

I did a little photoshoot of my loves at Alridge Gardens for the boys' 9 month pictures...here are a few from it. It was a warm, humid day.

Believe it or not, this was the next day...talk about a cold snap! Happy 9 months, B & D!

In October, we took a trip to the beach. It was a little cool and windy at night, but during the day it was nice out. They all had so much fun playing.

The fall is always busy for us. This is from the pumpkin patch last weekend.

Madelyn wanted to ride the horse, so we let her. She said, "I was a little scared, but I was brave."

This has been an extra busy time of year, and starting in October, things always get crazier. We have some things coming up every week between now & Thanksgiving, but I'll try to update soon!

A New Adventure

I am absolutely loving spending my summer with my little loves. Summer is the time of the year I look forward to the most (well, except for the heat). We've enjoyed the pool, the zoo, dance, story time...so many things. Although I love my job, I am not looking forward to losing precious time with my loves. I feel bad that I haven't taken more pictures, but here are sojme I have taken.

So the title of my post is "A New Adventure". After lots of thought and prayer, I am starting out on a new adventure. I have started working with Usborne Books & More on the side. They are a great company that has all sorts of wonderful books for kids, from birth-teen. Here is the logo I created - Dalton is reading "That's Not My Frog", Madelyn is reading "Ted & Friends", and Braden is reading "That's Not My Puppy".

Needless to say, I am thoroughly enjoying my time with my loves. It is going entirely too fast. Madelyn started dance the first week in June. She absolutely loves it and she is actually very good for her age. She loves showing off the things she has learned. We also took a beach trip that week. We spent some time with friends while we were down there, which was a lot of fun. It was great to get away. Unfortunately, the next 2 weeks after that, David was sick with one thing or another, which was hard on everyone but especially Madelyn, who didn't like her routine interrupted. We have stayed busy with dance, story time, shopping, feeding the ducks & geese in our neighborhood, and playing at the park. We took an impromptu trip to Atlanta on the 4th, spent the day there, went to IKEA, and watched fireworks in Douglasville that night. A certain little girl loved that especially. Madelyn has also started learning to read. She has always loved books, and she knows all her letters and letter sounds, so we've worked on phonological awareness, blending, and some sight words (Yes, I just slipped into SLP mode instead of mommy mode). I am so proud of her, and she is so proud of herself for the things she has learned. And the boys...sweet little babies. They could not get any cuter or sweeter. Braden has some funny faces. We call his latest on the turtle face, which I was finally able to capture today. I'll try to get those posted soon. He thinks his sister is the funniest person in the world, but he definitely shows a tendency to be a mama's baby. He's not as strong as Dalton, but he can sit up for a few seconds by himself. He still despises tummy time, but he can scoot himself across the floor with his hands behind in him and his rear in the air. He is also my thumb sucker, but he'll take a paci if you give it to him (but he would rather chew on it) My sweet D...he has two modes - happy & mad! Mad is only when he's hungry or tired though. He decided he didn't mind tummy time when he finally figured out how to roll over by himself. He has tried his hand at crawling too, which tends to be more of an army crawl. He can sit up for a while by himself too. They are both giggly little boys. I love to listen to them laugh, especially at their sister. They do great on a schedule, but they are much more flexible than their sister was! They're still little peanuts - when I weighed them last weekend, they were 14 1/2 lbs & 27" each. Everyone says that Braden is bigger, but they actually are right at the same right now. They are little piglets, and they've loved all the baby food they've tried so far. I actually gave them a baby food jar for the first time while we were in Atlanta...it's was quite funny because they gagged on it! It was butternut squash, which they had the night before and loved. They also had it the night after and loved it. Apparently mommy-made baby food is better than premade. I do have some more pics to post, but I'll save that for another day.

We have been so busy lately! So I've opted for a picture update. Since I was used to the old blogger layout with the pictures going in reverse order, I've messed things up a bit. So we will start with the most recent...

Dalton has discovered Lily! Poor kitty, he pulled out 3 handfuls of hair before she decided to leave. She is the most tolerant cat in the world!

My family is in town visiting! It is the first time they've met the boys. Of course everyone loves them =)

The boys took a nap in our bed the other day. They slept about 5 hours! I finally woke them up. They look super comfy.

We took a trip to the zoo on Saturday! Madelyn had lots of fun. I was so worried about the boys getting sunburned! But, thankfully, they were fine. Didn't get to see much though.

For Mother's Day, I got hand and foot prints (among other things). It was my first Mother's Day with the boys. I love my babies - all 3!

My little ballerina will be starting dance next week. She is so excited!
